Great Futures Gala 2024 Honoree: The Taylor Family

The Taylor family's commitment to community service spans three generations, rooted deeply in their upbringing in Paterson and Passaic. Dr. Howard Taylor, a Passaic native, and Laurie, originally from Paterson, instilled a profound sense of giving back in their children and grandchildren. Howard's tenure as a board member of the Boys & Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic since 2019 and Laurie’s passionate support have been instrumental in advancing our mission, with introductions of family, friends and colleagues leading to a wide network of volunteers and benefactors. Their three daughters, three son-in-laws and 7 grandchildren have enthusiastically embraced this ethos, volunteering together as a family and strengthening their ties to each other and the community while making a collective impact.

Individually, each generation has extended their reach, including daughter Jamie Chudnoff’s volunteer engagement and third generation teens Jackson and Harly supporting Club Kids through impactful and meaningful Mitzvah projects. The entire Taylor family's volunteerism is threaded with genuine joy as they engage with Club Kids, whether it's assisting with events, reading a story or shooting hoops! Their shared enthusiasm and authenticity creates memorable experiences for both the family and the children they serve.

Beyond their philanthropic endeavors, the Taylor family shares a love for sports, which they've joyously imparted to Paterson and Passaic Club Kids. Collaborating with the Victor Cruz Foundation and the New York Giants, they've orchestrated memorable experiences for youth in the community. Howard's service on the BGCPP Golf Classic Committee has further cemented their commitment to leveraging sports as a tool for youth development and community engagement. Through their combined efforts, the Taylor family continues to leave an indelible mark on Paterson and Passaic, embodying the values of compassion, generosity and unity.
